Safety

Chicago Construction

Nothing is more important to John Keno and Company on any project than the safety of each individual working on it. Safety is the number one concern on every project, moreso than productivity, overall cost, or totals hours spent. A safe project costs less and keeps clients out of costly litigation scenarios.

Almost every JKC employee has attended an OSHA 10 hour General Construction Safety and has extensive training in other aspects of the industry (including but not limited to:

confined space, excavation competent, CPR / First Aid, Hazard Communication “HAZCOM,” lockout / tagout procedures, traffic and pedestrian procedures, and more).

JKC has a comprehensive, understandable general safety program that is explained and given to every new hire prior to the commencement of work. A site specific safety program is written for every job that identifies potential hazards for the employees. Separate policies and procedures for confined space, excavation competency, and other safety concerns are followed to the letter by trained personnel only.

JKC is proud to say that we have worked at some of the most strict safety facilities and for clients with special, specific safety confined space, excavation competent, CPR / First Aid, Hazard Communication
“HAZCOM,” lockout / tagout procedures, traffic and pedestrian procedures, and more).

JKC is proud to say that we have worked at some of the most strict safety facilities and for clients with special, specific safety precautions such as Argonne National Laboratory, Abbott Laboratory, Metropolitan Rail Authority (METRA), US Army Corps of Engineers, and the US Navy.

We pride ourselves in having a low mod rate, creating the opportunity and ability to pre-qualify for OCIP projects. We have also been a recipient of several safety awards from Lake County Contractors Association and the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates.
