Honoring Our Veterans and the Values We Share
John Keno & Co President John Vignocchi credits his years of service with the U.S. Army for honing him into the man he is today. Army training, including officer, Ranger and Airborne schools, taught him responsibility, teamwork, discipline and integrity, he says. It’s where he first adopted the “can do, will do” attitude that is a hallmark of the John Keno &. Co. approach to its work.
You don’t have to be a veteran, however, to appreciate the contribution that those values have made across millions of lives or to appreciate the even larger contribution made by the many men and women who learned and lived those values in military service.
“Words like ‘duty, honor, country’ take on actual characteristics of your being,” Vignocchi said in an interview with the Lakeside Alliance, builders of the historic Obama Presidential Center. “These expressions are not just words, but commitment to values that carry you through life.”
It’s a sentiment we thought was worth sharing again today as we celebrate Veterans Day and honor the men and women who have fought to preserve those values in our nation’s wars.
Happy Veterans Day from John Keno and Company.
